Guide for using 'flags.conf' and 'flags.bmp'
Content:
These 5 files:
flags.test.conf (1)
flags.test.bmp (1)
flags.test.famfamfam.bmp (2)
flags.conf (3)
flags.bmp (3)
Usage:
Take care (in all cases) that 'peer.resolve_country' (in uTorrent: Settings > Advanced) is set to 'false' (= default)!
- 1) If you want to help to find new and undocumented *.net and *.com adresses, so copy the file 'flags.test.conf' as 'flags.conf' and
the file 'flags.test.bmp' as 'flags.bmp' into the %appdata%-folder and press the keys 'CTRL+SHIFT+R' (to reload the new files) or just restart uTorrent.
The file 'flags.test.conf' is a special version of the 'flags.conf' with known *.net|US and *.com|US adresses (Thanks to AlphaOmega for originally collecting them).
So unknown adresses will be shown with a special
-flag, when using the 'flags.test.bmp'
too.
This makes it easier to find new adresses, which can be posted here:
http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=2070
- 2) The file 'flags.text.famfamfam.bmp'
is a variation of the 'flags.test.bmp' and can also be used. Just copy it to as 'flags.bmp' into the %appdata%-folder and press the keys 'CTRL+SHIFT+R' (to reload the new files) or just restart uTorrent.
Thanks to famfamfam.com for (partially) collecting the flags!
- 3) If you just want to use the files from 'eng',
so just copy the 2 files 'flags.conf' and 'flags.bmp'
into the %appdata%-folder and restart uTorrent.
It is a simple text file that specifies flag order (necessary when using either uTorrent's internal flag list or your own flags.bmp) and maps hosts to specific countries.
You can only map .net and .com domains to a country.
The format is domain.com|CC (CC being country code).
You can use this flags.conf, created by 'eng'.
Press Ctrl Shift R to make uTorrent load it without restarting.
Place it in %AppData%\uTorrent for it to work.
The flag named 00 is used to automatically display unmapped .com/.net with the US flag.
This requires having a duplicate US flag (or whatever you would like to use) in the flags.bmp
.
The internal flag list already has this.
Note, this cannot be used with peer.resolve_country.
